The aim of the Intern Scheme is to see church families across the UK relate to each other and to the Lord in a way that brings glory to God and displays the power of the gospel to the watching world.
By endorsing a peer group in your church, you are creating a safe space for parents/carers to explore the complicated calling the Lord has placed on their lives.
As a church, we are designed to speak into each other’s lives at all times (Ephesians 4:15). Needing help is our nature – offering help (in accordance with our gifts) is our call – asking for help isn’t meant to be the exception, it’s designed to be the norm of the Christian life.
Being an intern was a time of deepening understanding and experience in biblical counselling. It provided a structured and supported time to continue to work out what counselling could look like as a ministry both in my own local church context and as a ministry to other local churches
As we notice two types of interns emerging to serve their churches, we want to equip them better with more tailored training. For this reason, we are developing two parallel tracks for the second year of the Intern Scheme, launching in September 2023.
