Anger: Being Cross – Being Christlike

2018 RESIDENTIAL CONFERENCE

A biblical theology of anger, practically applied to life and ministry

Wednesday 21 – Friday 23 February 2018
The Hayes, Swanwick, Derbyshire

Whether it’s the red-hot fury of uncontrolled rage or the ice-cold vengeance of longstanding bitterness, anger hurts. It damages our relationships, and tears our churches apart.

In the Bible anger is often an expression of sin – think of Moses striking the rock or Saul flinging his spear. Yet, the unnerving fact is this: no one in the Bible is angrier than God. There is a pure righteous anger.

If we are to grow to be like Christ, we need to address our anger. Not by denying it nor by venting it; but by redeeming it.

Our 2018 residential conference will put anger under the microscope.

We’re delighted to be joined by Christopher Ash who will lead us through a comprehensive biblical survey of anger – both God’s anger and ours – and ask how the gospel transforms our experience of being angry.

Christopher is Writer-in-Residence at Tyndale House and Ministry Trainer at St Andrew the Great in Cambridge.

A popular conference speaker, he is the author of a number of books, including Job: The Wisdom of the Cross; Teaching Psalms; Pure Joy: Rediscover your Conscience; Married for God; and Zeal without Burnout.

Whether you are a pastor or church member, someone who counsels regularly or who has a more informal ministry with individuals, I do hope you can join us.
